I have made the decision to stop updating Random Vignettes on Tapas.io. For the time being.
I have been thinking about this for a while. I upload these vignettes to multiple spaces every week: this website, the fediverse, Tapas, Webtoon, Instagram, Ko-Fi, Patreon, sometimes Reddit and now I’m starting to upload to Tumblr (let’s see how that goes!).
It takes time (that I could be using to recover from my RSI, animating or drawing more vignettes) to prep all of these uploads, and it is tiring sometimes.
So of all the places I upload to, funnily enough, Tapas is the one where I get the least traction. There just doesn’t seem to be much of an audience for the vignettes there, which is ok! The audience I did have I am incredibly thankful for, and if they enjoy the vignettes I am sure they will come to the website whenever they want to check them out again. It’s just not really worth the effort to maintain so many websites updated when no one is really looking at my work there.
The same thing happened with Twitter; now I only tick the box in Ko-Fi that says “share to twitter”, because not many people really interact with my work there (and it’s pure chaos and I hate even going into twitter anymore due to the idiocy of their new management).
Maybe I’m doing it wrong. Anyway. Thanks for reading.
